Avian Dissuader BDL-532HP

THE BRIGHTEST IDEA in BIRD CONTROL!

The BDL-532HP Avian Dissuader® is a Class 3b, 50mWatt (green) laser and provides the ability to disperse birds as much as 1 mile (2 kilometers) away plus the ability to manage targeted birds in flight.
Many commercial and military airports in the USA and many other countries are already enjoying success with the Avian Dissuader® laser.  The Avian Dissuader® is an excellent tool for many industries including warehousing, landfills or anywhere large flocks of birds conregate indoors or outdoors.

For lasers to work effectivley, there must be a contrast between the laser and surrounding ambient light.  The stonger the contrast, the more efficient the laser becomes, particularly when managing larger bird populations.

Lasers are completely harmless to the birds they target.
Designed for Pigeons, Starlings, Sparrows, Grackles, Ducks, Gulls, Canada Geese and large birds like Egrets & Herons.

The BDL-532HP Avian Dissuader® Bird Laser Details:

The rapidly increasing population of birds combined with their loss of naturally occurring habitat has caused birds to look for food and shelter in places where they have much more interaction with humans than ever before.

  • Bird Lasers operate silently, making them discreet and unobtrusive to most people nearby. In fact, the public could walk past a laser operator without noticing any bird dispersal activity, except for the sound of agitated birds fleeing the area.
  • Lasers are completely harmless to the birds they target. There are no concerns about accidental harm.
  • Bird Lasers provide an efficient solution for bird dispersal in areas like hangars and warehouses without the need for climbing or significant investments in equipment, personnel, or maintenance. Major retailers such as Wal-Mart, along with military installations, are currently using the Feather-Light laser to manage bird problems, all while allowing staff to work from the ground level without additional personnel.
  • With over 15 years of field use by expert organizations like USDA/APHIS/Wildlife Services and the Air Force, Avian Lasers have proven their ability to effectively deter birds over time, without them becoming habituated or ignoring the deterrent.
General use of the BDL-532HP Avian Dissuader® Bird Laser:

If you are working with birds that are sitting in a body of water, start by pointing the laser down at the water.  This will cause the beam to reflect off the water and produce a spot to appear.  Move that spot out towards the birds in a start/stop indirect manner that would tend to mimic the movements of a predator.

With birds in a tree, simply point the laser into the tree, starting from the bottom and working up.  Move the laser back and forth while you walk around the tree to make sure it is cleared.  This is especially important with deciduous trees that contain dense foliage as it provides "hiding places" for the birds.

The reflection of the beam spot off of foliage, water, or even other birds is what frightens them away.  It is not necessary to have the laser beam actually touch the birds to be effective (although there is no harm to the birds).  Once the roost is completely clear, the birds will not normally return that night.  Field testing has shown that 3 to 7 nights of using the laser to deny the roosting location has a sustantial impact on subsequent daytime and nighttime population.

While lasers are mostly ineffective outdoors in direct sunlight, it can be used effectively on cloudy days.  They can still be very effective during daylight hours when used indoors to clear buildings such as warehouses, retail stores and aircraft hangers etc.
